The Interior

While it looks about the way the factory intended, I did make a few personalization changes.  I added the newer, better radio to drive the Sony Explod system in the trunk.  There is a 600 watt (for the bass), 500 watt (for the mid's), and a 250 watt (for the tweeters) amplifier in the trunk, so that I can enjoy my 60's oldies C.D.'s in style.  There are two 10 inch sub woofers behind the rear seat back, a pair of 6 X 9 Kenwoods in the package tray, plus a pair of 5 inch round speakers in the kick panel up front. The Stewart Warner guages supplement the idiot lights Chevy put in, and the rest is as delivered.

Like a lot of classic Chevy owners, I have always been a fan of the 1959 and 60 Impala steering wheel, so I had to have one of those.  I painted it to match the dash, got new "paint separators" as the little chrome rings on the wheel are called, and polished the chrome horn ring.  I think it looks right.

Acknowledgements

The bodywork will be next of course, but before we get there, I need to thank some folks - Mitch Foster again, I could not and would not be here without your help.  The rest of the folks, (none of whom I actually know) are my internet friends.  A lot of information comes to me by way of the net.  I want to thank the members of the 348 - 409 Forum, and the members of Chevy Talk Forum for their help and support.  There is a great pool of knowledge out there, and to get help, all you have to do is ask.

The work continues on Page 6
